Job Summary

The Operations Advisor will initially be based in the international design office during the EPC phase of the project. This position will transition to be on rotation during the construction and operations phases. The position reports directly to the Production Manager.
During this initial EPC stage, the incumbent will provide technical operational input to the project teams to ensure smooth hand over of the facilities in line with the Operations Readiness program. Once operational, the key accountabilities include Supervision, Production, Work Permits, Environment, Health and Safety, Emergency Response and Human Resource Management.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of fifteen (15) or more years’ experience in Oil and Gas operations and five (5) or more years’ experience in LNG operations. Specific experience and expertise in the following is required:

  • Supervisory experience of a multi-skilled and national workforce in a shift work environment;
  • Able to motivate and lead team in a positive, proactive manner;
  • Resourceful and highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Take a lead assurance role for Production aspects in the design, construction, installation and commissioning phases with a strong emphasis on operability, maintainability and facilities performance.
  • Assists with the Review of P&IDs and process related drawings. Participates in the development and review of all Operating Manuals and other relevant Project documentation. Actively participates in Process Safety Management and other Reviews including HAZID, HAZOP, HAZAN, High Level Task Analyses, vendor Packages   and other Ergonomic and Operational assessments.
  • Represents Operations and Maintenance in project meetings.  Works with project team to ensure that operational problems are identified and mitigation plans developed.  Reviews process shutdown and start-up procedures, and standard operating and site-specific procedures.  Reviews project designs for alignment with operability, reliability and maintainability functional objectives and design criteria.  May resolve or work with Senior Project Operations Professional to make sure conflicts are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of Operating Manuals / Equipment Manuals for Operating Phase

Operational Phase

  • Ensure the operation of the LNG facility is in accordance with approved procedures, standing orders, and job hazard analyses.
  • Review work quality of operations personnel to ensure a high quality of work in:

Downtime reporting
Work orders and fault reporting

  • Troubleshooting;
  • Shutdown planning;
  • Plant documentation;
  • Commissioning plans;
  • Equipment isolations;
  • Meet production targets, maximize productivity, minimize downtime and improve reliability by managing resources, coordinating activities with other departments, monitoring performance and predicting effects of changes;
  • Fulfil all Permit Authority functions including authorization of Cold Work, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Excavation Work Permits;
  • Provide leadership in the implementation of Environment Health and Safety Management System Standards and Environment and Safety Hazard Standards;
  • Lead the response of production technicians to an emergency.

Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree, trade background (Electrical, Instrumentation and Mechanical Fitter trades) or extensive panel operations experience

Language

  • Fluent oral and written knowledge of English.
